Brainport Development N.V. processes personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide them to us yourself. Below you will find an overview of the personal data we process and how we treat your privacy.

Your personal details are stored in a database. We use this to identify you as a relation of Brainport Development N.V. and to send you the newsletter or invitations for general events. This information will not be used for other purposes and will not be passed on to third parties. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter or invitations, you can unsubscribe at each newsletter or invitation.  

Provision of personal data 
Providing your personal data to Brainport Development N.V. is done voluntarily on the basis of consent, agreement, justified interest or legal obligation as described in Article 6 of the General Data Protection Ordinance (AVG).  If you do not agree to this, we cannot enter into contractual obligations with you, contact you or send you information. Your data will be registered in a database and used for the normal business purposes of Brainport Development N.V. Should you no longer wish to receive contact or information, you always have the right to change or revoke this permission. 

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process 
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect information about website visitors under the age of 16. Unless they have permission from parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is over 16 years of age. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in their children's online activities in order to prevent the collection of information about children without parental consent. If you believe that we have collected personal information about a minor without that consent, please contact us at and we will remove that information. 

Why we need data
Brainport Development N.V. processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Sending the monthly newsletter.
  • Invitation to events concerning the organisation or arising from the project portfolio of Brainport Development N.V. 
  • Analyzing your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website and to tailor the range of products and services to your preferences.

How long we keep data
Brainport Development N.V. will not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data are collected or are required by the Archives Act. Our retention period(s) are:

  • For personal data - the statutory period or earlier if you so request. The statutory period varies from one to a maximum of three years.
  • For personal data received via a contact form or social channels, the retention period is a maximum of 30 days.

Sharing with others
Brainport Development N.V. only provides data to third parties within the European Union if this is necessary for the execution of the agreement with you within the framework of an assignment and/or the execution of a (subsidy) project, in order to comply with a legal obligation or if you give permission.

Below are the parties where it is necessary for Brainport Development N.V. to be able to exchange personal data with them, if this is necessary. A processing agreement has been concluded with all these parties in which your privacy is paramount. 

  • Service providers etc:
    We use technical service providers who can manage the technical infrastructure we need to process our online activities, their content and data. We also use technical service providers to communicate with you, such as sending a newsletter or inviting you to an event.
  • General data:
    General data is stored and kept up to date in order to optimise the website and thus our services. By general information we mean the most frequently requested pages of the website or your preferences of our services. This concerns numerical data and not the identity of you as a person.


During (public) events of Brainport Development N.V. or Brainport Eindhoven photos can be taken that will be published on our website and/or social channels at a later date. People who are recognizable by Brainport Development N.V. on the photo and whose personal details are known, will be approached for permission prior to publication.
